Huston is expanding again! We recently opened a new location in Lebanon, Indiana by purchasing certain assets of Boone County Electric on June 20, 2012 and will offer their current and new customers our products and services in electrical, signage, telecommunications, IT and back-up power.
Huston Signs & Services goes GREEN while completing a signage transformation from Kokomo Mall to Kokomo Town Center.
Huston Signs & Services rebuilt the pylon sign with custom limestone columns, EIFS decoration, custom powder coated
steel arch assembly, LED channel letters, LED identification cabinets and a WatchFire 19MM, full color, LED Electronic
Message Center.
For one week Huston Electric employee Brady McKinney traveled to New Orleans, LA to help in the re-building efforts from hurricane Katrina. Although it has been several years since the hurricane, there is still a lot of work to be done. Brady traveled alongside 7 other IUPUI students; they stayed at the Church of the Annunciation, which is located in the heart of the Broadmoor Community where more than 80% of the homes were damaged from Katrina
Huston Signs and Services just completed the re-branding of the previous Kokomo Howard County Convention Visitors Bureau and Automotive Museum. Huston Signs and Services removed all of the old red barrel type awnings and replaced them with new “IVY TECH Green” awnings. In addition, IVY TECH Community College added new LED illuminated Channel Letters and re-branded the existing Pylon Sign with new Polycarbonate Faces and a new Watchfire Electronic Message Center.
On November 11, 2011 Journal & Courier listed Huston Electric, Inc. as the
2011 Reader’s Choice Award for the category “Electricians.”

On November 3, 2011 with Mayor Greg Goodnight, City and County Elected Officials, Guest Speaker Quinn Buckner
and over 350 Business Leaders in attendance at the Kokomo Country Club, the Greater Kokomo Economic Development
Alliance announced Huston Technologies, a Division of Huston Electric, as the 2011 Technology Business of the Year.

Last Friday, the Huston Sign & Services LED Electronic Message Center truck was at Chauncey Hill advertising for Dairy Queen. A new business location opening, like the opening of the new Dairy Queen at the Chauncey Hill Mall next to Taco Bell in West Lafayette, Indiana, is a great use of the Huston Sign EMC Demonstration Vehicle. Samantha Stratman and Corky Huston from Huston Electric and Patrick O’Neal & Jim Brooks from Dairy Queen collaborated on utilizing the EMC truck to advertise their Grand Opening. “What sounds better than a Blizzard, Dilly Bar, Peanut Buster Parfait or a hand dipped ice cream cone on a day like today?” stated Samantha. “We believe when students, Purdue faculty and citizens of West Lafayette drive by and see the images on the EMC that they will want to stop in and take advantage of what Dairy Queen has to offer, Great Eats & Tasty Treats” Corky went on offer. |

The Huston Sign EMC Demonstration Vehicle will also be at Mosey Down Main Street on Saturday night, August 13, 2011 from 6-10 p.m. advertising for the Friends of Downtown. The Friends of Downtown is a member based Non-Profit organization that promotes the vitality of the Downtown Lafayette, Indiana area. They strive to encourage and promote local businesses and expand cultural events. Mosey Down Main Street is a series of street collaborations brought to you by the local artistic community. Volunteers, downtown business owners, artists and musicians come together once a month from May through September to offer a free family friendly event that takes place right down the center of Main Street.

Huston Technologies just completed an installation at Oak Street Funding in Indianapolis, IN. Oak Street Funding implemented a SMART 52”LCD Interactive touch screen display with SMART Meeting Pro Premium software. In addition, they also installed the latest model of SMART Interactive Whiteboards for business (the 885ix) with an ultra short throw projector. Immediately following the installation they were already putting it to great use with a training & collaboration session for their new employees. What a great site to see, a company utilizing the latest in technology to teach and train their new team members. In addition, it’s great to see a company adding to their workforce.
