Built for flexibility

The interactive pen display connects to your computer, so you can interact with media-rich content on a high-definition (HD) widescreen display and share your work on a large screen or interactive whiteboard for everyone to see. And you don't even have to be in the same room – you can share your work remotely using SMART Bridgit conferencing software. Open documents, applications, websites and multimedia files, write notes over them in digital ink and save your work for distribution or later reference. The versatile 500 series display supports collaboration in virtually any workspace, from small meeting rooms or home offices to large auditoriums. It can add flexibility to meeting rooms already equipped with SMART Board interactive whiteboards, because you can work with content from anywhere in the room and display it on the interactive whiteboard. Remote or home office workers can use SMART Podium to share screens and write over content as if they were in the room, increasing their level of participation and engagement.

Easy to save, easy to share

The SMART Podium 500 series interactive pen display is integrated with SMART Meeting Pro software, which lets you write in digital ink over any document, application or website, or capture notes as a screenshot and save them as a PDF or PPT file. Marked-up pages, revised documents, diagrams, notes and comments can all be captured easily and sent to meeting participants by e-mail. You can mark up files in common applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or OneNote and Adobe Acrobat Pro, and SMART Meeting Pro software will insert and save your work in the original file.

Available in widescreen 18.5" (47 cm) or 24" (61 cm) displays, with a native 16:9 widescreen resolution, the 500 series is ideal for displaying and manipulating HD material in fine detail. The interactive pen display has flexible scaling options to support 16:10 and 4:3 resolutions. It can connect to your computer and projector by DVI, HDMI or VGA. There are three high-speed USB 2.0 ports to connect peripherals such as USB drives, document cameras or personal mobile devices. The 500 series is also HDCP-compliant to ensure smooth and secure transfer of digitally copyrighted materials between your computer and SMART Podium.

Interactive pen display features

DViT technology
The 500 series features SMART’s own DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology. By incorporating cameras in the bezel to detect
pen touch and movement, DViT technology provides a responsive, accurate writing experience.

Widescreen HD interactive display
View your content in sharp detail with a progressive-scan LCD display designed to show wide-format video and high-resolution
images. Compared with a standard-format display, the wide-format display gives you 20% more workspace to effectively interact
with your content. The 18.5" (47 cm) display features 720p resolution. The 24" (61 cm) display features
1080p (full HD) resolution.

Elegant design
Designed in the same aesthetic tones as the SMART Board 8070i interactive display, the 500 series features a slim profile, 
minimized bezel and reduced overall footprint. It will complement virtually any workspace.

Console buttons
Access the right-click button, select pen colors or the eraser, or launch the On-Screen Keyboard, Screen Capture tool or
SMART Meeting Pro software. The buttons are illuminated for use in dimly lit rooms. They are also preconfigured but can
be programmed to suit the shortcuts you use most.

Tethered pen
Control your computer from SMART Podium and comfortably write over any application with the battery-free tethered pen.
Because the pen is the point of contact on the interactive screen, you can rest your hand on the screen while writing notes.

SMART Ink
Smooth out your handwriting to improve legibility with SMART Ink. You can write notes over any application and save them
into several software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and OneNote or Adobe Acrobat Pro.
You can also turn handwritten notes into text objects that you can manipulate.

Integration with Microsoft PowerPoint Presenter view
Maintain a private view of your presentation material, including all slides and speaking notes, while controlling what your
audience sees on the screen, interactive whiteboard or display. Use the display’s controls to switch ink colors, move back
and forth between slides and write speaking notes as you present.

Magnetic pen tray
Rest the tethered pen in the magnetic pen tray when it’s not in use. The magnetic pen tray helps minimize the profile of the
display and provides easy access to the pen when needed.

Smooth Tilt Stand
Smoothly and easily adjust the position of your SMART Podium, so you can comfortably rest your hand on the display while
you make notes.

Integration with other SMART products
Launch SMART Meeting Pro software with the button located on the display. The software is integrated with the 500 series.
SMART Podium also complements SMART Board interactive whiteboards and displays, giving you the choice to sit or stand
and face a group while you interact with content.

Video handling features

HDCP compliant
Ensure the smooth, secure transfer of digitally copyrighted materials between your computer and SMART Podium.

Future proof
Flexible video connection options (DVI, VGA or HDMI), wide-format aspect ratio and scaling options ensure SMART Podium is
compatible with existing and future technology investments.

Built-in scaler
Automatically optimize images by displaying the video input in its native resolution and aspect ratio, including 16:10 or 4:3.

Connectivity features

Simple installation
Connect your computer, SMART Podium and projector using USB and a DVI, HDMI or VGA cable, so all devices will display
the same image simultaneously.

High-speed USB 2.0 ports
Access three high-speed USB 2.0 ports to connect peripherals like a USB drive, document camera or personal mobile device.
A fourth USB 2.0 on the rear connection panel is provided to connect a computer.

VESA mounting plate
Use the VESA standard 2 15/16" x 2 15/16" (75 x 75 mm) mounting plate to install SMART Podium on third-party
mounting arms or furniture.

Security features

USB disabling
Prevent unauthorized USB data transfers by mechanically disabling the USB port functionality.

Kensington security lock slot
Secure SMART Podium by connecting a compatible lock and cable to the slot.
